Cake:
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt

¾ cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup milk
Frosting:
1 cup cream cheese
½ cup unsalted butter
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 tsp matcha powder
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease two 8-inch pans.
Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and matcha.
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
Alternate adding flour mixture and milk. Mix until smooth.
Divide batter into pans and bake 25–30 minutes. Cool completely.
Beat frosting ingredients until smooth. Spread between layers and over top.
Sift matcha powder to avoid lumps.
